Technicolor Network Services opened in November 2004, and now serves as the company’s London facility at Chiswick Park in West London.  This facility currently supports several key customers and manages the playout of 20 channels with discrete multi-language outputs to the UK, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and South Africa. 

One of the UK’s first HD channels originated from this facility which also boasts extensive preparation and content management capabilities including 37 post production suites, and two fully-equipped production studios.

Technicolor Network Services’ business in the UK was awarded a long-term contract in December 2006 by ITV plc to handle the broadcast and transmission operations for its six existing channels, including ITV1, the leading commercial channel in the country. The company has assumed control of ITV’s Northern and Southern transmission centers in the UK, along with approximately 120 employees. 

Current ITV playout operations include channels ITV1, 2, 3 and 4, Men and Motors and CiTv.  In addition, ITV 1 has 25 regional feeds that are supported with unique advertising insertions and programming announcements.  As a result of the ITV deal, Technicolor Network Services now provides fully managed playout services from the North East (the NTC, Leeds).  The facility has fully diverse connectivity with our London facility, creating additional playout and disaster recovery capacity for those customers who require it.
